Lord Lamington frequently appeared in my law books and I always wondered if he had anything to do with lamingtons. Well, Wikipedia confirmed the connection between the two. Lamingtons' French chef dipped squares of French vanilla sponge cake in chocolate sauce and rolled it in coconut and served it to the Lord's unexpected guests.
